How we collect, process and store personal data under the GDPR and the German Bundesdatenschutzgesetz.

1. Controller

The controller responsible for data processing within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is:

2. Data collected when you visit the website

When you access our website, our hosting provider automatically records information in server log files that your browser transmits: IP address, date and time of access, page requested, volume of data transferred, referrer URL, and browser and operating system type.

This data is used solely for the technical delivery, stability and security of the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure operation under Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The data is not merged with other sources or evaluated for advertising purposes.

3. Hosting

Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. In this context, personal data (in particular server log data) may be transferred to the USA. The transfer is based on the European Commission Standard Contractual Clauses pursuant to Art. 46 GDPR. The legal basis for hosting is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

4. Contacting us by email

If you contact us by email (info@wafka.de), we process the information you provide in order to handle your request and any follow-up questions. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the request relates to the initiation or performance of a contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

5. Project briefing form

Through the briefing form we collect the data you provide: name, email address, company, phone number, project type, location, budget range, timeline and your project description. We use this data solely to review your request and prepare an offer.

The data is transmitted to our inbox info@wafka.de via a technical form provider engaged as a processor under Art. 28 GDPR ([form provider]). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures). Providing the required fields is necessary in order for us to process your request.

6. Cookies

We use only technically necessary, functional cookies, for example to store your language selection. There is no tracking, no audience measurement and no sharing for advertising purposes. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(2) TTDSG.

7. Google Analytics

This website uses Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Google Analytics uses cookies to analyse how the website is used. The information collected (including a truncated IP address, device and browser data, pages viewed) is generally transmitted to and stored on a Google server; this may involve a transfer to the United States (Standard Contractual Clauses under Art. 46 GDPR).

Google Analytics is loaded only with your consent (Consent Mode). The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR. You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future via the cookie settings. We have enabled IP anonymisation.

8. Retention period

We store personal data only for as long as is necessary for the stated purposes or as required by statutory retention periods. Requests that do not lead to a contract are deleted after six months at the latest, unless statutory obligations require otherwise.

9. Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to object to processing based on a legitimate interest (Art. 21). You may withdraw any consent given at any time with effect for the future.

10. Right to lodge a complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information, Alt-Moabit 59-61, 10555 Berlin.

11. Currency and changes

As our website develops or in response to changed legal requirements, it may become necessary to amend this privacy policy. The current version is always available on this page.
